COVID-19 Vaccine to Long Term Care Staff and Residents
As COVID-19 vaccines begin to arrive in the Pacific NW, Wayne Havrelly from KOIN 6 news, sits down with Phil Fogg, CEO of Marquis Companies and Consonus Healthcare about what this means for the long term care staff and residents.
“This vaccine is the first step in a recovery process that gets us back to a new normal,” says Fogg. “The people we serve are in skilled nursing or assisted living facilities and they don’t have the ability to go to a retail pharmacy, so it requires a long term care pharmacy, which is what we have.”
Phil shares his thoughts about how Governor Kate Brown has played a critical role in advocating for distributing the vaccine to the long term care population and how the state of Oregon will be one of the first in the nation to get the vaccine to long term care staff and residents.
