Consonus Rehab Services Enters Into Las Vegas Market

Under the leadership and guidance of Guy Cowart, Region Vice President and Babak Amali, Area Director, Consonus Rehab Services is preparing to enter a market known for its status as the entertainment capitol of the world: Las Vegas, Nevada. Although, with more than 50,000 new residents per year choosing to reside in Las Vegas and a population projected to exceed two million by 2010, Las Vegas is more than just a dazzling playground. It's a great place to work, which is exactly what the Consonus team will be doing as they partner with Nevada's first continuing care campus, Plaza Regency, to provide progressive rehabilitation services to the senior community.

The Plaza Regency is a campus setting offering elegant living and quality care throughout the continuum: independent, assisted, and skilled care. The 188-bed facility provides 24-hour long-term care, short-term rehabilitation and sub-acute care in a modern and spacious complex. Through the combination of specialized equipment, advanced technology, clinical expertise, and compassionate care, the Plaza Regency is in a unique position of being able to offer sophisticated services such as ventilator and dialysis programs. The Consonus therapy team will compliment these specialty programs through the development of protocols and practices that will improve the therapist's ability to evaluate, identify primary impairments, measure progress differently, and provide appropriate rehabilitation intervention for the medically complex resident.

Brian Anderson, PT, has joined Consonus as the Rehab Director and will oversee a team of six full time therapists and eight per diem therapists. In addition to staff support and development, marketing assistance, and clinical programming, Consonus will be implementing Rehab Optima, a rehab software system. Rehab Optima is an innovative system that offers vital advantages in managing effective therapy programs. Some key features include correct coding initiatives, part B cap management, accounting interchanges, clinical documentation guidance, MDS accuracy tools, and much more.
